Emma Ross

By using a combination of hand-printed techniques, I produce contemporary print designs for fashion. Using manual processes as a form of development and screen-printing as a starting point, allows my ideas to flow naturally. My work is mainly led by composition, colour proportion and texture which is shown in my playful print designs and 3 dimensional drawings.

I enjoy working with translucent and opague fabrics, showing innovation within a fashion context. Surface and pattern design is an area I get very inspired by, I love experimenting with different medias, creating 2D and 3D drawings which makes me multifunctional in the fashion and textile industry. I take my inspiration from non-textile ideas, including all aspects of art; fine art, abstract art, photography, ceramics and fashion.

I work well both collaboratively and on my own. I’m hardworking, trustworthy and excellent at juggling multiple creative tasks and working under pressure. I'm highly driven and eager to learn new skills.
